Song: siru thoduthalile
Film: laadam
Singers: Haricharan, Bombay Jayashree
MD: Dharan
Lyrics: Yugabarathy
I've been anxious for Dharan's follow up to Sivi. I found him to be the most promising among the young rising stars (G.V.Prakash and Naran are certainly in close contention). Dharan shows something special in his orchestration yet again. Elegaic flute and energetic strings cradle this sensual stunner. While his "oh nenjE" from Sivi caused me to wear out the repeat button in my player, "siru thoduthalilE" might have preponed my deafness by a few years. Despite Yugabarathy drenching himself in VM's hyperbolic cliches, Haricharan and Jayashree recognize savor and deliver the lushness intended by the composer.
- Folks in India do spend a lot of time on wikipedia, even this movie has an entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laadam .
