This is another one of SARs songs that deserves a place in dhooL (despite the legion of SAR resisters out there). As he has had a habit of doing so in the past, here too SAR pens the lyrics himself, something he is more than adept at doing. The essential treat of the song is SPB in pure loverboy mode here (thats a preemptive strike on Vinathas future post). The mood of lovers in a horse carriage, the tune, its pace, arrangement, and percussion everything is 80s pop. And, no, I dont mean that as a slight.
I have seen this movie credited to Ilayaraja in more than one place; not hard to do, especially, with the characteristic IR prelude and the fact that it was a Mohan starrer. . . but I vaguely remember seeing the CD cover some time ago state SAR, and it is also attested by another site on the net. So, Im bravely launching this songbird as an SAR creation. Of course, this wouldnt be the first time if I have gotten the credits wrong. But the song is all good. After the violin bit I hear no IR or SAR, all I hear is a thoroughly enjoyable romp by SPB. Enjoy.
