Though quite a bit like “siththiram pEsuthadi” in style and mood, I love this one even more perhaps for less wear on my ears and its over-before-you-know-it length. Not to pick on the other colossal song, but somehow, TMS sounds more spontaneous and less stagy in this. TMS for GR is a treat every time.

But above all else, it is the lyrics that felled me first. kOvil pirasaatham maathiri konjamaa kudhuththaalum kaNNula oththikkiRa maathiri mozhi. PattukkOttaiyaar, kAviyaththEnai URRiyirukkaar.
