- Taare Zameen Par is a new film by Aamir Khan and Amole Gupte. Music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Apparently, the film focusses on a subject that is new to Bollywood: It describes the life of a dyslexic child and the world through his eyes. Aamir Khan plays a teacher who is able to understand and appreciate the child's fantasy world.
- This album is in my playlist these days and I've listened to the songs umpteen number of times. The album is probably one of the best, if not the best in Bollywood this year. The theme for the album is childhood and the tunes are so catchy and melodious that they will appeal to both kids and adults.
"Kholo Kholo" by Raman Mahadevan has excellent guitar riffs and a good arrangement.
"Bum Bum Bole", a favorite of my four year old, has funny gibberish by Aamir Khan and Shaan. Children are sure to lap up that one.
"Maa" has Shankar Mahadevan at his best. The song is about a child's insecurities and fears and who else can he confide in, but his mother?
The piano theme, titled "Ishan's theme" sets an apt tone for the album, evoking nostalgic memories and ruminations of childhood.
The SOTD is the title song for the film, sung by Shankar Mahadevan again. It is a grand piece with apt lyrics by Prasoon Joshi. SEL's arrangement again here is impressive.
