This is a good semi-classical number to have come along in the last several months. The orchestration and tune bring to mind a Vidhyasagar melody with KJY or a KJY clone, the kind usually reserved for a Vijayakanth movie. But K.M.Radhakrishnan is credited with the music. If this is his first Thamizh effort, he certainly should be welcomed. Madhu Balakrishnan, not everyone's favorite among mallu pipes, does a commendable job here I think. Binny Krishnakumar rounds out the rest of the singing. Thamizh hasn't hurt their tongues too much, and they have returned the favor by not hurting Thamizh as much. I'm sure sticklers can find something to gripe here, but it's a sea of mediocrity drowning the FM waves out there and a song like this deserves a lifeline.
- Did this film get released? This is a dub from a telugu film, manasu palike mouna raagam. The movie stars Sneha. I see no reviews, but a couple of places where the video of the complete film has been posted online :)
- K.M.Radhakrishan gave a couple of good albums in telugu, Anand and Godavari. There is an SPB song in Godavari that I like, I may put it up sometime.
