- T.K.Pughazhenthi, long time assistant to K.V.Mahadevan and a talented composer in his right, passed away yesterday. He was 74.

- Sathiya Keerthi sent this song from guru dhakshiNai that Pughazhenthi had composed. This is sung by P.Suseela, sung in film by Padmini.

- Saravanan wrote earlier:

One of the reasons that Madana Mohini remains a piece of tfm history, is that is was with this album that Thiruvanandapuram Kesavapillai Pugazhendhi joined KVM’s ensemble, and all of KVM’s subsequent films’ titles, till the very end, proclaimed: “isai: KVM; udhavi: TKP’’. An enduring and endearing association that, perhaps, has no parallel anywhere. And the credit for introducing TKP to KVM goes to M.P.Sivan. He was TKP’s Guru in Madurai Bala Gana Sabha, and the teacher and student shared a rare rapport. And when Sivan got an opportunity to write the lyrics (and the dialogues too) for Madana Mohini, he pulled in TKP, who had been working with C.N.Pandurangan for a short while, and his warm recommendation, and TKP’s unquestioned talents, of course, fetched TKP a permanent place in KVM’s troupe.

Gurudakshanai had Shivaji,JJ,Padmini. Shivaji being illiterate for whom Padmini who is the new teacher to that village teaches and JJ being the love lady for shivaji.

TKP 's name was changed by kaviyarasu as the asiriyar of NalaveNpa. TKP' s contribution was very much complementary to KVM. SPB's sankarabranam songs were mainly trained by TKP. His grasp over the lyrics, eihther Tamil or Telugu (Malayalam was his mother tongue) was superb. Purposely, he did not score music for more movies. Also he was a good PRO for KVM. Even when KVM was in paralysis attack, TKP carried over the business with KVM for many movies. He was a loveable person. It was a loss really.
