A brisk song to start the week. Surprisingly, singing for comedians bring the unexpected pattern of singing in many a singers.

This film was released in the year 1959 and SMS was the MD. Interestingly, except this song, the female voice for all the other songs was rendered by Radha Jayalakshmi.

There's a story behind this song, though I cannot vouch for its accuracy. It was related to me by a journalist friend who had a long chat with the late T.G.Lingappa.

Apparently, this song (written by Ku.Ma.Ba btw) was originally tuned by TGL for B.R.Panthulu's Sabash Meena. Things turned sour between Chandrababu & Panthulu during the making of the film, and after learning the tune and the lyrics, Chandrababu kept putting off singing this song citing some excuse or the other. It was only later that they came to know that he had in the meantime sung the song for Maragatham, getting SMS to compose the music!
