Lovely song and great write-up SaravaNA. This particular number used to make my Sunday afternoon, after the seemingly endless wait for the latest stuff on Madras A. Times have passed but memories still remain of those fun-filled days listening to various songs, debating as to who is better between MSV and IR, among other things. This is MSV's trademark music involving mridangam, flute, jaladharangam among trumpet and other assorted western musical paraphernalia. Really

M4E, so you recall those Sundays when Madras A used to play the latest songs from 4-5? How we used to wait for that hour! Besides that, the only other time I tuned into Madras A was Monday night 10-11, when golden oldies used to be played.

Sara, I definitely recall those days, when even cricket on Sunday afternoons took a back seat :) I don't recall the Monday nights, though. Bharadhi kaNNamma from NI used to figure on Madras A and, the MSV nut that I was then, I used to count the number of times the non-vocal "adhisaya malar mugam" occurred as the song trailed off toward the end. Thanks once again for your brilliant efforts.

A hazy remembrance of this song now kindered fully! How KD has inter-twined tamil verses with apt english ones! Definitely, this song and its sequel Ninaithale Inikkum truly represents 70's.

The combo MSV-KD-SPB has worked again as good as Sara-SOTD!

Thanks for whoever who put this song in SOTD. I am new to this forum and have no idea about SOTD system in operation.

This song used to be a regular feature of vividh bharathi between 4.00 to 5.00 evening wherein 15 minutes are allotted for each language from South.

Its been nearly 25 years since I listened to this song.

Perhaps April 23 1997 was the black day when "Madhure Geetam" from Vividh Bharati was terminated. A great source for listening to the songs from the 80s and 70s.
