More on the Danish Cartoons
The Brussels Journal has been a good source on what is going on with the Cartoons controversy. The issue has become mainstream now, a couple of days after I wrote about it. Since then, there have been umpteen developments, including the torching of Danish embassies. Here is a gist:
- The Jerusalem Post today became the first Israeli newspaper to publish the controversial Danish cartoons - Guardian
- Clashes in Afghanistan leave 4 dead in protests over Prophet drawings - Canada.com
- Police fired in the air Monday to disperse stone-throwing protesters demonstrating over a cartoon deemed offensive to Islam, triggering a stampede in which a teenager was killed in northern Somalia - CNN
- Danish daily newspaper, Jyllands-Posten is talking to Danish Muslim representatives about a joint declaration - Forbes
- Yesterday the newly established network of moderate Danish Muslims urged Danish imams, who insist Muslims are being treated badly in Denmark, to move to other countries with societies more in harmony with their own view on the world - Brussels Journal
